I have had the Samsung SPH-V9100 for about 6 months of hellish back asswards KTF overcharging service...

I finally broke down and attempted to get the drivers installed on my laptop so that I can use the MP3 player and clean off my photos. I had tried before but met with resistance as their aren't yet (or will there ever be?) English programs to do this.

I can muddle through the Korean a bit but my OS is in English so all of the menus are squiggles, fractions, pound sign, etc.

I actually managed to get my photos off. How I finally did it is a mystery to me as I haven't been able to get my PC to recognize the thing from the USB port again.

It makes the appropriate sounds but doesn't show up in My Computer. It did before... but now it doesn't.

The first time all the bullshit software that they load on opened automatically and then so did the device after I closed all the programs. So I moved mp3 files to the device and made folders there to organize them. When I tried to play them nothing happened. The files are there, but not recognized as mp3s by the player, even though I can navigate to them from the phone in the memory and see that they are where I left in the folders I made and yes... they are mp3s.

I have since repeated what I believed to be the process two times but nothing seems to work.

All of the blasted fluff programs are just spyware... all they do is connect to the internet and advertise crap I don't want.

Is there anyway to get this thing to function simply as a plug and play usb device without all the crap inbetween?



Does anybody on here have one of the Motorola Razrs? They are still grossly overpriced but I assume they must have something a bit more straightforward for phone to PC interface.

I have the Motorola KRZR. DO NOT GE THIS PHONE.

SK Telecom took this phone and nerfed it. First of all, they changed the power adapter from USB to the same propreitary Korean adapter. Because of this, you need a special USB data cable for your phone. The data cable only has drivers on Motorola's Korea site, and you need a special Motorola Phone tools software to access your phone. That software is also on Motorola Korea's website.

As for MP3's, the KRZR's in the US will play mp3's directly. you can buy an expansion card and copy all your mp3's on that and it'll play without any problems. The Korean KRZR needs every MP3 to be converted to a DCF format before it'll even play on the phone.

Most likely, your phone is not recognizing mp3's because it probably has to be converted to another format. Sounds easy enough, except that the player, melon player, that you need to convert will only do 1 song at a time. you can't just highlight all your mp3's and get them converted. You gotta click them, one at a time. It goes like this:

"click on find file"
"find the file by going through your mp3 folders"
"click destination directory"
"click DCF converting"
"click Confim"

rinse and repeat through your thousands of MP3's.

I have a SPH-V9050 and under the Exciting Anycall category it allows me to use the phone as a removable disk. When i do this i can just plug it in and it will show up as a harddrive. I can add/remove photos, melodies and music. The only problem with this is that mp3s don't actually play on the phone even though it's a mp3 phone. So i have to use the anycall software to put any music on, because it converts it to a different format.

Anyway i've "successfully" used the anycall software but it was a huge headache really to get it working and to get the drivers for my phone working properly.
