Hey there,
My boyfriend and I are going to Gangneung next weekend and I was wondering if anyone might have any suggestions regarding where to stay, drink, visit and eat.
Thanks in advance!

Try Bumpin bar, a small funky bar downtown with definite western flavor. Some foreigners still hang out there on Friday night. 1st major intersection from Macdonalds, turn right, walk a block and it,s around the corner from Family Mart. The warehouse. From family mart go straight back across main street and about 2 or 3 blocks. Warehouse is on your left, second floor. You should at least be able to find a westerner or two to fill you in on where to go in town. |

There is a ship collection to see. A retired destroyer from ROK's Navy that was transfer from US's fleet. My father served on board so I had to see the ship. Next to that is a captured DPRK spy landing sub. The beach is the scene from an actual infiltration and battle. Next is the all metal white sailing ship on a hill. It houses a Thomas Edison museum. The quality of the displays aren't bad. They have real phones etc that he made or had manufactored. |
