I'm a South African making my way to your parts of the world , and was curious as to how many of us there are out that side .
Mostly it's a matter of trying to avoid you , with the possible exception of lithe , bronzed nympomaniacs .
If there are any on this board , my follow on questions would be... (and the aussies might be able to help , assuming they have actually acquired the rudimentary cognitive functioning required to read...)
1) Any chance of being able to kick back and watch my beloved Rugby and cricket on the "telly"....or perhaps even join a local expat club playing these sports ? (I lived in Bangkok and we managed to sort this out....)
2) How you dealing with the cold ? |

Fair enough...but they do share our climate ! Besides I was sure all the kiwis would be out at the pubs at this time , lisping their ways into drunken fights ....
I don't want to miss the tri nations or the world cup ....you know ? ...the one's where we give you blokes a good whipping ?

actually i just got back from bashing some heads at the local.
anyway for what i can add: you can join a club called the seoul survivors who train every weekend at Hangang Park - I think that's rite. or yeouido park - next to eachother anyway. 12:00 saturday and 2:00 sunday though get in contact on the website ( i forgot the link just google seoul survivors) 'cos training's pretty flexible and relaxed.
there's a few saffas in the team.
scrooges pub in itaewon show all the rugby as does 3 alleys just across the road. so bring on the World Cup!!!
actually mate, i saw some hot saffa chick out on the drink on tuesday nite. i tried to pick her up in the mcdonalds queue but i was too hammered so i mumbled some unintelligible love lines to her and off she scampered.
never mind, you'll have to give me the inside word on how to pick up your countrywomen
i just read your comment on the trinations and am actually wiping the pi$$ off my boxers, i laughed that hard |

South Africa sure does seem to have a disproportionate ammount of very good looking girls, compared to that bunch of hogs your lot and aussies throw out...but I doubt many are over that side...they tend to get married very young ...
Personally I find the best method of picking them up is to fight through that outdated christian repression so many of them carry around ! Tight through it...hard....with tequila .
I'm expecting a year of general celibacy as this board points out the korean women have us stereotyped as drunken louts ..and are generally ragingly homophobic.......(well it's not a stereotype in the case of you Australasians) .....so it'll be lots of sport and hobbies to keep me busy I suppose...
remind me what happened in the super 14 again ? It's all a bit "rusty" ...

Homophobic ....ha ! Freudian slip obviously related to the fact that the word "homo" comes into my head when thinking about new zealanders....
Ps : Why do I keep having to log in again ? |

Actually I'm pretty sure the Survivors RFC are putting a cap on the number of Saffas allowed to play on the team. There has been a few more playing than usual and the occasional beating of the bilck players has reached endemic proportions. Communicating with the saffas has also been difficult and an on-field translator has been appointed and is being kept busy.

This coming from a Kiwi???
Considering that there are 12 official languages in South Africa, care to elaborate which accent exactly you're harping on about, mate? |

rural afrikaans, which of a lot of ruggers seem to speak with. very thick and in my humble and unbiased opinion worse than most of the accents found in NZ.

yeah im a saffer, rugga is no problem on the telly, just hook up cable-the slightly more expensive option,(iv got the shit cable and dont get rugby, guess i can upgrade tho) and watch it on australia network channel-505 i think. watched most of the s14 with my kiwi mate, i have never seen a dtrunken grown man cry like that...aparently they are showing the wc too, and have shown the internations so presumably the trinations will be there |
