I'm just wondering if a migook has taken a hangook back to the USA as a spouce. What do you have to do?
What happens if a Migook *Sah-ram marries a Hangook *Sah-Ram here? Is there a lot of paperwork?

How exactly would America (migook) take a Korea (hangook) back to America as a spouse? Can countries get married to each other? If so, do they go by Mr. and Mrs.? How do they choose?
If you're going to use Korean words, at least use the right ones when they're as simple as this.
As to your question, don't know. I'm American and my wife is Korea and we're going back for a short visit in July. Then we'll star the immigration paperwork.

You're gonna need an immigrant visa(green card) to get your spouse back to the US. It requires a good bit of paperwork and time. Check out the US Embassy-Seoul website. |

It's a lot of work. I invited my wife to the states on a fiance visa. I did all the paperwork along the way. There were many, many visits to immigration, standing in long lines, frustrations, etc. We started our stuff in 1999 and she got her permanent residence in 2001. It was a long, hard road. Now that we're back in Korea, she has to return to the states every two years in order to keep the permanent residence status.
My advice to you is to save about 3000 dollars and hire an immigration attorney who will file all the paperwork for you, thereby releasing you from all associated headaches, you won't have to take off from work every few months to go down to immigration and waste a day standing in line. |

Yes, typos are annoying and cause for laughter while being a sign of a temporary inability to type. But using the wrong words when you are speaking/writing makes you sound stupid.

I second the immigration representative. It is MUCH easier.
You said nothing about a "green card" etc. so I will assume you just want the marriage recognized by the US. You can get married by the embassy which is just filling out some paperwork and then listing the marriage with the local Korean Jung-bo? office. |
