| How do you go about sending a cat on a plane to Canada? I'm going to be flying her to Canada at the end of the month, but don't know how to get started. I'm also not going to be on the flight with her. When she arrives in Canada, my parents will go to the airport to pick her up. I've talked with my vet and he says he will give me a certificate to show she's up to date on her rabies shots, and he says I might need another certificate from the Canadian Embassy. How do I arrange the flight for my cat? She'll be in cargo. How does it work? Thanks for any help! |

Each airline is different for shipping live cargo. It is NOT the same as having your pet with you when you travel.
Call the airline and ask what THEY want. You will need to talk to someone in the air cargo department and NOT the reservations / ticketing office.
They should also be able to tell you what documentation you require to avoid quarentine at the other end. |

not sure if its different bc we are on jeju but...
when my friend sent her cat to NS in march she had to go through a shipping company. btwn the shipping co and the vet they took care of everything. it was about $600 but there were also two layovers simon had to go through.
if you are sending you cat directly to your parents perhaps it will be both easier and cheaper.
good luck~ |

Hey!
I just shipped my cat back to Canada last weekend, for my parents to pick up. I went through a pet courier service that I would highly recommend. It's a little pricey, but I think it's worth it. It saves you so much stress!
Contact PetAirline, website www.petairline.co.kr or email Gina at [email protected]. They will contact your vet to arrange paperwork, pick your pet up anywhere in the Seoul area, and make sure he's on a direct flight. They have kennels for sale too. All you have to do is sign the paperwork. I paid about 700,000 won. My cat arrived safe and sound in Calgary, scared out of his little mind, but in one piece. PM me if you have any more questions. |
