My current (cheap Lanstory Korean) router is failing me on the virtual server front. Sometimes I can�t get into my LAN from the outside world. It doesn�t disconnect from the Internet entirely, because I can still surf the web from the LAN behind the router, it�s just that the virtual server intermittently fails (and then mysteriously starts working again).
I�ve reset the router and upgraded the firmware and the problem still occurs. I�ve checked the router�s logs for anything suspicious (nope) and checked that the WAN IP hasn�t been changing (it hasn�t). Time to spend money I guess.
If you are using the virtual server on your router, and if you�re particularly satisfied with how stable it is, let me know the make/model of your router OK? |
