Unless you get a 13a visa you will still pay the foreigner rate (more than double the Pinoy rate).
I assume you are aware that you cannot legally study (as a uni-student) on a balikbayan stamp and will have to get your 13a or a student visa.

Thanks ttompatz, that is truly interesting information to know. However, at this point I am looking for a program and will study the visa and other practical details later. |

What part of the RP are you looking at?
The U of San Carlos (cebu) offers post grad courses in M.Ed. (English) and an M.A. (linguistics).
The University of the Visayas also offers an M.Ed
The University of the Philippines -Visayas offers an M.Ed and an Ed.D
The U of Cebu does NOT offer anything at any of the 4 campuses.
I don't know about universities up in Luzon. |

I am in Davao City, but I kind of thought I would need to look around Cebu. With cheap flights on Cebu Pacific my wife and I could go any place in the RP and still make visits back to her home.
I am open to any place on the Islands (however, I would prefer to stay out of Manila).
Thanks again for the useful info. |

Why not look into Framingham State College here in Korea?
It's an American teacher's college that has been around for 150 years. They just started a TESOL program in Korea.
Its $5,200 for the 10 classes, the classroom hours are about 6 weeks a year. You'd get the MA in two years. American professors fly from Massachussets to Korea to teach the courses. You have some pre-coursework to do before the professor arrives.
There is a very long thread on here elsewhere if you want to look more into it. |
