Ok, so...
Are schools blantantly lying when they say they don't have to pay into pension or are they ignorant?
I called up the pension office today to ask that question and they said, "Of course. Everyone who works in Korea should pay into the pension. Your hogwan doesn't pay? Can I have your alien registration number?"
Uhh... I'm too close to the end of my contract and getting all my shizzazz cleared outta here to risk fooling with my school's precarious financial state by going to the pension office with this.
Is there really anything that can exempt an employer from paying into the pension? |

No, you should be getting your pension. What country are you from? If you get it back you shouldn't let your school slide on this. It is something you are entitled to and they are breaking the law. |

Is the pension deal really all that? Just wondering if it really is worth paying into? |

If you're North American or from Australia it is. Your boss matches your payment every month and you'll get it back about two months after you get home. Your bosses payment adds up to around 100,000 won a month depending on your salary. |

Yeah, it's around 2million at the end - like found money that (I believe) accumulates interest while it's there. |
