Not a recruiter out of 4 has replied to my inquiries regarding my job search. I only write to the ones which say they reply in 48 hours or less.
In all of them, I've revealed that I want to bring my wife and 2-year-old along, even if it's all at my expense.
I've indicated that I'd like to find a position where they are included in the housing consideration (my wife is not teaching-eligible), but made clear that that is the ideal, not a must. I can pay an amount for their upkeep if need be.
Having 21 months prior experience at 3 Korea hagwons and nary a problem in the bunch, I'd just like to focus my teaching skills on ESL (no certificate) teaching and spend more time traveling, this time bringing my significant others along.
Is it best just not to mention them, just getting them prepared and bringing them 'under the radar', so to speak--nothing illegal, but simply keeping them and the job separate? I would think, being my family, they are entitled to come along with me in some normal way.
Last time I was in Korea, I went through AsiaJobs, an operation that at least got me there and stayed clear of everything after that. I haven't even heard from them since then and can't find them online to write to them.
But should I just not mention the family? |
