I don't understand. Are you saying the show has been cancelled?

well, what i meant was that the show has lost its quality... the script was okay... still funny, but the obvious green-screen effects... meaning that the show was shot in a studio and then superimposed onto the background is cheesy...

the charm of the show was the bad filming and so on... but obvious cheesy effects are a sign that the show is about to jump the shark./

for me, that is sad, because it was one of my favourite canadian shows.

You sure about the green screen effects? I am from Dartmouth, which is where they film the show. I know for a fact that they bought out a HUGE plot of land, and built a trailer park there to film the shows. Big sign out from that says TPB productions. Why would they use a green screen when they have that whole huge area to film the stuff the way they want?

This season has been unusual so far and hard to judge because the relationships are all changing so much.

Personally I wasn't a huge fan of season six, and season five wasn't as good as season 4. I think the show works better as one-offs than using story arcs as the primary source of drama.

Season 4 was the best season ever.

They own their own "trailer park" in Dartmouth and they shoot entirely on location.

The green screening you seem to be speaking of is the car driving shots through the park. I think, think, that they are using some sort of hi-def camera and so it looks different, but as far as I know they are not using special effects. It seems unlikely they would do this for 2 reasons. 1 they have their own trailer park so why pay to do one green screen? 2. they are shooting on location at the Halifax International Airport, if they can do that, they probably aren't green screening.

1st episode was great, (Who stays open until 6:20???) the 2nd one i didn't like so much.

I don't know dudes...I assayed a few episodes when this thread came up before and I was shocked! Really, I couldn't believe that this was actually a show, but then again, I wasn't raised in (or have ever even been to ) a trailer park! I guess, in the long run, it was just way to sophisticated for me and flew clear over my head. Very Happy

Yeah I'm pretty sure Octavius Hite is right about what he said.

But if you're absolutely desperate to know, I know one of the actor's on the show and I guess I could find out. But I'm pretty sure that since they shoot on location, they're just using a different kind of camera. Since the show's popularity, they've gotten a bigger budget, so I think that's the only difference you are seeing.

To be honest, I'm not quite sure, though I could ask him for you. I know he's wanted to pursue other things in his career as well (he's also the narrator on "Poco", a children's show on CBC, and has started his own dance company as well, which I think is high on his list). Who knows. I'll see if I can find out.
