Let's ignore for a second the ethical intricacies of this.

I just got told I needed to write a 4 minute speech for a student for their ENglish school.

It needs to be for a Grade 6 with about grade 3 level (America) skills - fairly advanced. I have been given no guidance. I can pick any topic.

Does anyone have any links for say the text of US or Canadian Elementary school speech contest winners? I'd like something to work off of as a guideline. I have 1 day to do this and no idea even how many pages this should be.

Any links or help would be ghreat!

Four minutes shouldn't take long. I suspect that something between 300 and 400 words should do it. If the judges are going to be Korean just make it about some suck-hole thing like kimchi or Chuseok and how wonderful it is.

I didn't really check out that site. I workied on a speech recently with one of my students - she spent time in OZ so her level is quite high - grade six student here. She wrote about the environment. I edited it and helped her with pronunciation. Here's a little speech I found just now on a similar topic:

Make sure your student speaks SLOW!! 4 minutes is a long time (I'd say maybe 1 page and a half or 2?)

I have been scowering the internet for samples of actual speeches from a single kid at a speech competition or whatever. No joy.

This is gonna be harder than I thought - maybe I will have to write it all

Write your own. Use my easy as pie template and add an example for each one. A few sparkles and it is done. Lots more in my public speaking folder too.....
