Thank god someone sane has decided to join the race. This is a good thing for Korea and for democracy.

Former Prime Minister Han Myeong-sook of the Uri Party yesterday declared her ambition to become the nation's first female president.
Han, a former jailed activist, touted her "soft yet strong leadership" in challenging frontrunner Lee Myung-bak from the conservative Grand National Party.
She also pledged to continue inter-Korean reconciliation efforts, including economic cooperation and rail links from South Korea to North Korea and Europe.
"Our people long for new leadership which would heal the nation's confrontations and divisions ... With gentle and strong leadership based on communication and unity, I will resolve difficult tasks in our society," the 63-year-old veteran politician said at a news conference. |
