If you extended for 2 months, you ARC was extended which means the time you can stay has been extended. BUT, your right to enter the country has not, and that is what the VISA is for. If you want to leave the country and not return, no problems. If you want to leave and come back, you will need to buy a re-entry permit.

at the airport you can buy a re-entry permit at the immigration desk. Do this before you check-in. Should only take about 10 minutes unless there's a queue, and I'm pretty sure the cost is 30,000. You will need your passport and ARC.

You don't need a visa to enter the United States if you are a US citizen.
Is that the answer to your question? |

| It depends where you are from, if your are from the UK then go to your Immi office and they will give you a multi-enter permit gratis, if not then i think it is 50k. The ones you get at the airport are only once use things, so i believe, thus if you plan on travelling more than once get it from immi first. |

| I believe that's normal. They diddle something on your ARC (probably because there's an expiry date on your ARC) but make no changes to your passport. It's all entered into their computer so they know from their computer record at Incheon if you're still kosher. But yes you need the re-entry visa. |

| This poster said ANOTHER YEAR. Don't you need a new visa for that? |

I mis-read the OP. No, he does not need a new VISA. He just needs a re-entry permit. The updated info on the ARC is all the OP needs to continue his/her stay.

| Can stay at the same school 6 years without a new visa, immigration will just sign on the back. As far as traveling, as others said, just file for re-entry at the airport. |

To clarify this for the OP....
You extended your period of sojourn. Your exit date on your ARC was changed (the squiggle on the back).
NOW - You must get a NEW re-entry permit if you want to leave and return.
You can get it:
at your local immigration office - single or multi re-entry permit
at the airport - single re-entry permit - located behind checkin counter "F"
on-line at : http://www.g4f.go.kr/ click the link for e-application
Re-entry permits are NOT carried over with an extension. You must apply for a new one every time you extend your stay. |
