Hi folks,
I'm a noob and going to Korea this August. I have a job lined up and was hoping someone could shed some light on this school.
Name of School: Sangha Elementary School http://sang-ha.es.kr/
Location: Bojeong station (Bundang line, station no.k233)
Number of Teachers: 48 teachers
Number of Students: 733 students
Yongin City
Any info on the school and general area would be appreciated. |

Do they have a native speaker? If so, make sure to get in contact with him/her and see how they rate their job. If you're the first native speaker then try to email or speak with some of the Korean teachers you'll be working with.
The school looks to be fairly new, so you might expect to have a decent sized classroom, computers, projectors, etc. that you could put to use.
Bojeong is on the Bundang line, so you can get into Gangnam in about 45 minutes via subway or bus. |

thx for the reply Custom.
The recruiter I'm going through is going to give me the teacher info soon.
Also, do you or anyone know if the area is rural or more city? |

It's definitely more rural and surrounded by apartment buildings. But if you get on the subway there is a new department store that just opened up in March and an Emart (grocery store) 1 stop away. There is a new subway line being built extending from Bojeong over to Suwon that may open in the next couple of years (that may or may not be of service to you depending on how long you stay).
If you can't get into Seoul, you can head over to Seohyun in about 15 minutes by subway where there are plenty of restaurants, bars, shopping, etc..
There are far worse locations than Bojeong, so if everything checks out with the school then then I would recommend it.
Ahh...you may also want to check to see if the school qualifies as a "rural" school. If so, you can get a 100K/month bonus and 5 extra days of vacation per year. |
