|
|
Anyone ever have a Korean cut off your Song ( you can hit the stop button) on the Nori Bang machine?
It has happened to me on two occasions coicidently at a fitness club party. I really didnt believe this last time since it was only my third song in about 2 hours. The guy who was doing it just looked at me in a stone face stare as I complained to an English speaking friend about it.
When the song returned the third time after waiting 30 minutes for that I just left.
There was a lot of drinking going on to be sure, but my implication is that they cant stand listening to English songs, although I endured 2 hours of their crap. |

It depends where the cut off happens. If it's near the end of the song I'm ok with it. But it does suck being suddenly cut off in the middle.
Next time...wait till the dude is half way thru something and kill his song, then laugh. |

Maybe he was the 2nd shooter and he knew you were on to him so he was pissed off. |

The few times I've been out with coworkers they've asked me to sing an English-language song. I hate singing and am terribly shy, but I do it anyway. But, when my song comes on everybody leaves to go to the bathroom or buy cigarettes or get more beer, etc. |

Maybes you're grammer be's worser.
Sorry...couldn't resist.
This has happened to me as well, twice at a PS function. I excused myself and left, and politely declined further invitations. |

It was in the beginning. They were handing me the microphone and the introduction of the song was starting.
Good singing or not, I was not a "hog" and purposely waited to input another song so there wouldnt be "too much English".
As I said, I had to listen to their crap and if I wasnt to sing a few songs , what the heck was the purpose of hanging around.
It was my third song in two hours. |

Koreans might not like listening to English music but they love listening to Korean music where the singer suddenly blurts out something cool like, "Yo yo, check it out!" |

If the awkward misplaced English wasn't so funny, I'd be cringing all the time. My personal fave is "boys say, girls say, oh oh!" |

It's never happened to me, and I don't blame you at all for being angry. I think the best thing to do is tell them straight-up, as they might not understand what the problem if you just leave etc. Besides, it's usually best to try to solve a problem when possible by dialogue. |

I did make it very clear to an English speaker I was pissed.
Exposing these people for the rudesters they often are was part of the reason for starting this thread. More importantly though, this is an example of why most of them never really learn English since singing and listening to English songs is a great and natural way to learn. There are other things they fail to do , like take and independent trip as opposed to a package tour which would also help.
Their heart is not in the learning process. |
