Have any of you guys considered applying for the Westgate Corporation and working for a university in Japan? I've got an interview with them today so I'd appreciate any feedback.

You got me thinking and I went back to a thread you started a while ago. I did pm rafikaM and it seemed like a bit of a crapshoot in terms of what your apartment would be like and how close you'd be to the school, iirc. I guess you've already had your interview, and I hope you got the questions ahead of time. I don't have anything to add there. I was short-listed last year (I applied really late) and I'm not pursuing it only because I now have all of my paperwork in order to go back to Canada and teach there. Otherwise I'd do it. 4 month gigs? How bad can it be?

I was offered a job 3 years ago, but I didn't accept because I decided to teach in Jeju. Anyways, it did sound good except the housing situation. It was really expensive something 90.000 yen per month. Other than that it seemed very well organized.

Check over at the Japan Forum. The dispatch outfits like Westgate, Interac, etc. all have well-deserved bad reputations. Why don't you apply for JET instead?
