Doesn't really matter cuz I'm sure it would be bunk. Real absinthe contains thujone, which may or may not be a psychoactive (well, it is but you have to build it up over time so it usually has no effect on people). Even most European absinthe limits how much thujone is allowed in the final product, much less than is needed to cause divination. Plus it tastes like crap.

There are plenty of mountains in this country and plenty of mushrooms naturally growing. But you have to be careful. Very careful.

I haven't really looked, but in all likelyhood there are psychoactive mushrooms growing here.

You can also check cattle pastures.

But be very careful and make sure what you're eating is legit. If not you could become very sick and even die.

Jeju Island is actually a famous place in ancient Chinese foklore in regards to the mushrooms that grow around the volcano there. It was called the island of the immortals. If you know anything about mushroom mythology around the world, injestion of psycoative mushrooms is often linked to achieving a sense of immortality through the idea that one achieves rebirth by going through the trip.

Yes but at least there's a point with mushrooms. Well, I guess there's the bravado that goes along with drinking one of the most foul liquids imaginable (yes, I've had worse but still...).

I have not had that drink myself.

Mushrooms, on the other hand....................

Imagine 75% or higher Jagermeister with a mix of slurried grass clippings. High in hay, alcohol and anise flavors. Mmm, yum!

You'd have to be either a complete moron to eat random mushrooms you pick in the forest. Most of them will mess with your stomach or kill you and won't cause you to trip (for those who don't know...even hallucinogenic mushrooms cause even the most experienced user to toss 'em back up from time to time). TERRIBLE IDEA.
Absinthe does in deed taste like black liquorice mixed with 150 proof vodka and vomit. And even after several shots+sugar it usually doesn't achieve it's desired effect. And it's incredibly pricey. And it doesn't glow radioactively like it does in Euro Trip.

And that wasn't directed at any specific individual. Just saying that one shouldn't eat mushrooms one finds in the forest.

Lol...actually you guys are getting it all wrong. No one really makes *real* absinthe anymore. There's only one guy who does, and he was a chemical analyst who found a 100 year old bottle, did a sampling, then made it. I'll try to dig up the article from Wired.

His absinthe is award winning, doesn't taste that bad, and DOESN'T CONTAIN VERY MUCH THUJONE.

Anyway, to the point, is absinthe legal or illegal in Korea?

Are you the guy that found the bottle, and want to know if you can sell your potion legally? If not, what is the point in this thread?
