I am intending to teach English in Korea, but am unsure as to which city to go to.

I am an actor by training, and degree, and am looking for a city which fosters a great deal of visual/performing/musical art and artists.

From my research it seems that Seoul is the only city that has a vibrant art culture. However, Seoul seems too crowded for my tastes, as I am more inclined to a city like Vancouver, Canada (If anyone is familiar with that city).

Any feedback and advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Sean

What are your intentions as far as an Artist's community. Do you want to see shows or act in show?

I don't believe that on an E2 visa, you would be allowed to participate in theatrical events. That is not to say that it doesn't happen. But there is a risk. And Seoul would be the place to go. You might be able to catch some theatre in other cities, but odds of it being in English are rather poor.

In any case, the only place in the country you'll find any of that is Hongdae.

See, act in, just be near the pulse of, kind of thing.

Yeah, Seoul seems to be the only place. Thanks for the help.
