Just got here Saturday night...like it so far though it's hard to picture being here for a whole year without making some friends. I'm the only native speaker at my school, and most of the foreigners I've seen so far consist of a small Indian population, and as far as I can tell they don't speak English.
I work in Dongchun-do and live by the Arts Center subway stop...i dont have a phone or internet in my place yet but if anyone would like to hang out, or at least could reccommend places to go/ things to see, let me know.
Thanks! |

Come to the goose goose bar in bupyeong tonight. You'll meet plenty of people. I'm not really sure how to give directions there, but if you wander around long enough you'll see some foreigners who'll know how to direct you on the street. |

I think you mean Dongchun-dong. That's a good area for food and shopping. Also a couple good movie theaters. Bupyeong seems to be a great place to meet expats as well as a bar called Route 66. It's off of the Dongmak subway stop which is only a couple of stops from you. It's near Songdo New City. Good luck! |

I live in Ito Tower...thats all I know. From my window, Lotte is right across the street, and the arts center is diagnally (sp?) across.
If indeed you are in the building (even if youre not) I'd welcome some time with English speakers who didn't learn it in school. (I find I have a hard time understanding the other teachers here. So far their system of organizing the classes is a mystery to me.)
And thanks for the tips. I will check that place out. |

Route 66 is closest to WONINJAE subway Stn, I live around the corner. In addition to the Goose, check out Woodstock bar and Dizzy bar across the way. It doesn't take long to build up a crew to hang with in this city...more and more expats are choosing Incheon over Seoul it seems. |

My gym is in that building, it's called Spopia. My apartment is about 1 minute away walking, in the "Rodeo" square. |
