it's the best place to live in Korea...
I took this on Ap-san(Mt.)
There is an ice-cream woman on the top of the Mt.

That does look good. That's what I like about Korean cities, they're compact enough that you don't get American-style sprawl which makes transporation easy and there's still some countryside nearby even the biggest cities.
After visiting my brother in Vegas last year the amount of sprawl just made the whole place unlivable... |

Hey! I was there at Apsan last Sunday; it was great, but cloudier than the picture. If I could get a job there, as good or better than the (great) one I have now, I would be back in Daegu in a flash. |

Daegu suck balls. With the right lighting and a good camera I could take a picture of my toilet that looks appealing.
Stay in Seoul. More exciting, better food, more fun, more options, WAY hotter women, and less whiney East-coast Canadians |

I have found that ice cream lady on top of Cheon Ju Mtn.
But, I do like Daegu better than Masan. |

Daegu is great. Good foreigner scene. And having dated women from both cities, I can say Daegu girls have a bit more common sense. Daegu has everything u need... seriously... I can't think of much that Seoul has that Daegu doesn't. Even foreign food. Dance clubs. Lots of great restaurants in that really compact, nice little downtown. You can save your money better there. It's totally fine. Just the weather got to me a bit, but not so different from Seoul.
Good place!! |

Wow, that ice cream lady really gets around. I saw her on top of Mt. Suraksan (not to be confused with Seoraksan). |

I don't know. I can respect your opinion, but Daegu just seems so dull to me. However, that's after living in Toronto and Seoul all my life. Compared to them, going downtown was about as exciting as a trip to Thunder Bay. Granted, shortly after moving to Daegu I got married and reduced my "nights out", but the times I did head downtown I was immensley bored. Everyone I knew always wanted to go to Commune or Thunderbirds... dirty little holes. Commune especially reminded me of the bars I would sneak into as a high school student. I did find one cool jazz bar, but it got shut down.
I prefer Seoul for the different options. You have your huge clubbing area, your Itaewon, Gangnam, Sinchon, and other localities, each being a bit different. Daegu, it seems, just has "downtown".
And so many more cooler foreigners in Seoul. |

If you can speak Korean, go to Arabian Nights. Rubbish Korean music granted, but the sheer amount of 'up-for-it' women more than makes up for it.
Other than that i'd say one of the Rodeo street clubs. But, to be honest 95% of the girls down there seem to be either terrified of foreigners or extremely fed up with the aforementioned drunk whiny East coast canadians hitting on them randomly.
Went to Thunderbird once, (was kind of dragged along) and I can safely say I'll never go back. What a dump. Full of idiots. Itaewon bar is ok, as is Old school for a mix of foreign/korean punters. |

Not a bad place, but honestly I didn't find that there was much to do there on your days off. You could climb a mountain or jostle with the crowds of high school students downtown.
There's not much of a live music scene either. There is / was a jazz bar called THAT. There's some tiny rock bar....sorry forgot the name. But, really there are quite literally only a couple of places to hear live music in Daegu.
I've always said this. Daegu is a city with huge potential if only they would develop the arts scene more. |

Made a trip to Daegu a few weeks ago and thought it was a cool little city. Didn't get to many bars, but did have a few beer at Thunderbirds. The bar itself wasn't really that nice, but the owner was a hell of a nice guy. |

Recently I found a a little jazz bar near Samduk fire station (not THAT Bar) called SoGong, and they apparently have live shows every Wednesday and Saturday. Also, there is a club called LiveInD near Galleryzone, that hosts Indie/punk/metal shows. I went to one a couple weeks ago, and it was actually pretty good. |
