|
|
Hello,
My girlfriend and I are leaving for Bundang on the 12th of July (or the 13th for you all). Any advice or suggestions for group sporting activities. We enjoy bike riding, hiking, and other outdoor activities, as well as night life entertainment. My research on this board shows that we should have decent access to both, however, are there any soccer, softball, frisbee, leagues in the area that one can join?
Also, let me know if there are any musicians who would like to get together and jam? I play a lot of different instruments and am looking to make friends and play whatever.
Thanks for the help!

sorry
I posted this on the wrong board. It should be on the "off-topic" forum.
I guess I should repost? |

not always in bundang, but better than anything else so who cares? there are some players in bundang you could split a cab with when you come to and from seoul. practices/pickup are typically on sundays. occasionally there are games in bundang too. there are tournaments throughout east asia if you're keen. great community, one of the primary reasons i'm going back. |

Actually should be in the "GENERAL" forum ( Forum for general discussion on issues related to *living* in South Korea).
I expect it will be moved shortly by one of the mods.
Now to answer your specific question posted in the Original Post:
Bundang is a big place. Most people coming over and who think they are in bungang are only 1/2 correct. There is Bundang-gu (large district that covers about 1/3 of Seongnam city) and Bundang-dong (one of about 20 smaller communities within the gu). Accurate answers depend on where you end up.
There are a couple of decent parks in and around bundang-dong, sunae-dong and seohyun-dong. (Yuldong and Central parks come quickly to mind). If you are elsewhere in the gu (like down towards Ori or Migum station areas) there are also parks and jogging paths but I am not very familiar with them.
There is bike riding / jogging / walking along the Tancheon and Bundangcheon (small rivers) and those paths go all the way into Seoul.
Most of the semi-organized pick-up sport leagues (baseball, soccer, rugby, etc.) play in Seoul on the weekends (in the Han river park). They are easy to get to from most areas in Bundang-gu.
As to musicians, when you get here and get settled, let people know where you are and I am sure you can hook-up for a jam session or 50.
