Not to be another rant on what we already know, and maybe its just more of the bassackwards way they do things here. So I begin..
I am in the process of redoing the contract. EPIK.. holding out to see if the new change come July will do anything to the contracts. Also trying to get the much desired pay raise.. I have my two years of experience have my TESOL certificate all is good... Umm yeah no.. because the POE changed guys they now claim they know nothing about me.. I will assume this goes to all the other foreign teachers in Public Schools in Changwon as well. I must verify my previous year of experience from my academy.. and then they will approve of it or not. (the experience that is)..
My first thought is dont they have a file on people they employ? That is kind of a standard business practice right? And if they hired me into one pay scale that requires a year of experience wouldnt one assume that if you add another year then that makes two? or did I miss something in Math class?
Has anyone else had to go through this piddly crap??
And the best part is I havent even discussed the reduction of three hours in the contract that will put my other little school all in overtime and the rate they are going to pay me at.. I can assure you it will not be the 6,000W or I will flat out refuse to work it.
comments help? info on new contracts? |

My school have asked me to provide details about my degree and TESOL certificate twice now. I got some attitude from my co-teacher because I couldn't remember what month I graduated from uni, so I spat the dummy and wrote an email to EPIK complaining about being asked for the same details over and over again. They wrote back and told me it was actually EPIK asking for the details via the school. Isn't SK supposed to be one of the most highly developed countries with regards to information technology? |

Immigration do have a very exact file on all your work history, plus any red flags you might have file on everyone I can assure you..
It is at their fingertips on their computer in front of them...all they need to do is type in your alien registration number.
I know this as i have seen mine and it was pretty detailed... |

Could be a way to catch people who are here on a fake degree and can't remember what lies they told the first time. Match the second to the first application and hey presto any discrepecies show right up. |

Possible but just seems like the lazy way out of it to me.. Working for a public school they should have had this information verified when they hired me. Especially since they put me in the pay bracket that required a previous year to begin with. |
