I don't know if it means anything, but I just thought that it was kind of funny that both of these articles appeared in the same paper on the same day...Maybe Mohammed Saeed al-Sahaf (former Iraqi Minister of Information) now works for the "Times"? No wonder it so hard to get a straight answer here sometimes...
From today's (Sept 8th) web edition of the "Korea Times"

Kangnam Apartment Prices Plummeting

Skyrocketing Apartment Prices in Kangnam

It just reminded me of an old hagwon director who told me I would never be forced to work overtime unless he made me... |

The English papers here suck. Half of them(especially the business section) is just a big advertorial for the Chaebol. i bet the first one was fact taken from the Korean dailies and the editorial was a pay-off from the government, or someone to paint a forever rosy picture. |

Well, actually, my students were trying to explain this to me this morning, They said that the news about prices rising came out yesterday, but that the news about prices dropping was pretty fresh, (this was a 6:30 am class)
The consensus seemed to be that these fluctuations are quite common, but the price drop is still good news |
