Ok, if you've been here for any time at all, you know that airline prices skyrocket for the Chuseok holiday and if you don't book months in advance you probably won't get a ticket. My question is, who is filling up these flights? Every Korean I have ever met gets together with their family during Chuseok and goes to their parent's/grandparent's house...
Do alot of Koreans really travel on this holiday? What demographic? Families? Single adults? Or is it that every single foreigner in Korea gets the heck out of Dodge? Anyone know? |

It's the demographic with oversized luggage that visit family abroad. |

I think maybe some people book a ticket in the hope that they will be able to leave Korea during Chuseok and won't have to go and visit their ancient relatives in the country, but then find out they can't.

and then never bother to contact the travel agent to tell them that the 8 dream vacations they booked won't be necessary. |

Spot on. It'd be nice if they had to pay a small deposit to reserve a ticket. That would nip that annoying problem in the bud I think. |
