Anyone up for meeting Friday or Saturday night? I have to get some time away from the guys. It could be like a Ladies Lunch, but with alcohol instead of food.

Yeee hawww. Where are we going?

Please, though, let's not turn it into those group of foreign women who are screaming English in Itaewon. It always make me cringe.

Maybe the guys can organize a night out too and we can all meet up in the end?

btw, i think that's a great idea, molly. especially since we'll all be drunk enough by that point to be well beer-goggled.

I don't think I scream english when I'm drunk, and people usually enjoy reminding me of the stupid things I do when I'm under the influence. I'm thinking Itaewon since it's a good central location that people are fairly familiar with, although I actually haven't been to that many bars. Any suggestions?

And since I've already experienced beer-goggles in Korea, please girls, look out for me! Embarassed

itaewon? really? can i suggest hongdae? we can definitely find more variety of bars/music/cheap drinks/outdoor drinking spots than we can in itaewon.
for the record, this is not a dis on itaewon. i don't mind hanging out there once in a while, but with the summer, it's nice to be able to drink and play outside.
what night are you thinking of? i think saturday would be good, just 'cause i personally like to be a bit more chill on fridays. give me a chance to get over the week and gear up for the weekend, ya know...

I'm willing to go with any suggestions that someone with more experience has. Saturday is probably better for everyone, and if you think Hongdae is the way to go then that's good enough for me! What's a good time, before it's crazy but not when it's dead? My guess would be around 9-10.

They're forecasting rain all weekend, so we probably won't get to enjoy the outside much. I think we should plan on going to an indoor bar. RSS, any specific places you have in mind? I've only been to one place in Hongdae.

there are a few good spots to check out. one place i like is gogo's, it's centrally located and they have super cheap drinks. the music is by request, and they have a lot of seating as well as a small dance area. it's upstairs of club ff, on the club street.
another fine drinking establishment is the castle praha, which is a microbrewery located in a beautiful old church. it's right at the end of the club street, close to dgbd (aka drug), again fairly central. it's pricier than gogo's, but it's a great place to start the night, the beer is very tasty, and the ambience is mellow, it's a group-oriented place for sure.
there's also a fantastic soju place called the hardcore sea mussel factory, it's about 1 block away from the park. they have lots of yummy food, soju served in various fruits, and of course sea mussels. depending on how many are in your group (and sometimes on whether there are koreans in your group), you get mussels for free, and free refills as well.
these are the places i like to drink. good spots for dancing abound, i especially enjoy skunk hell, club ff, club spot, and dgbd.
if i may, i'd like to suggest we start out at castle praha, maybe 9ish? have a few beers there, break the ice, and then move on for some serious disaster-making, trouble causing, and general mayhem.

You ever seen that movie 'Ladybugs', where Rodney Dangerfield is the soccer coach and he gets a dude to dress up as a woman so that he can win a bunch of games? But then the dude starts liking a girl on the team but he can't tell her that he's really a dude? Because I think that would be a fun movie to watch on your night out.

Sounds good! I really like the idea of bar hopping too, I like checking out new places, and all of those sound great. I don't know if I'll be taking the subway, but meeting there would probably be the easiest way to find everyone, plus it will be sheltered if it does rain. Should we say Hongik station at 9?

That's awesome, I'm always late too so we'll probably get there at the same time! And I know Amber will be there too, who else is coming so we know who to wait for?
