Just thinking about the humid Korean summers makes me sweat. Inspired by the India threads of late, and ella, I am thinking of ordering some sarees. Check out the site below.

I am just wondering what you guys and gals think. Would a non-Indian, light haired woman, get away with struting around Korea in this kind of outfit? |

OF course!
Sorry I find this ridiculous, wear whatever you want who cares.
Fashions has always been influenced by cultural attire, mixing it up to create trends.
And anyway, what about the case of a blonde haired baby being adopted by Indians? I'm sure they wear saris |

Yes, if you tear one of the sleeves, wear a green shirt underneath it, and have something like "Earth is love and life making too happiness" emblazoned across it, diagonally.

I just finished reading Interpreter of Maladies by Jhumpa Lahiri, she spells it S-A-R-I.
Just wondering if there are two spellings for it?
Are you going to wear one that exposes your stomach and belly button?

Go for it. I used to wear a sari quite often when I was braving the muggy summers of DC. They are cute, comfortable, and nice and breezy. |

I guess it's better than white people with dreadlocks, or English teachers in Korea wearing those straw rice farmers' hats. |

I think for a special occasion, you can just about wear anything you want - if you are the kind of person who likes to stand out in a crowd?
I mean, the same can probably apply to traditional costumes from other countries - should westerners wear hanbook? kimono? qipao?
Conversely, should asian and other nations wear a white wedding dress when walking down the aisle?
Saris are gorgeous and given the chance, I would most definitely wear one.
Love this one in the burgundy colour:

Freedom of expression. You can wear anything you want. That means I can wear a Sikh turban and carry the dagger around. |

Salwar Kameez is a little different than a sari, anyways. |
