|
|
My cooker has a basket for steaming. Any good websites for rice cooker steamed food? Last time I used a rice cooker as a steamer was in college and it turned out pretty... not so great.
Anyone got a few good recipes? |

Use it for veggies. It has a lid, right? There is no way to screw up steamed vegetables. I had a girlfriend once who used to cook everything in her rice cooker. Eggs, all kinds of things. There are a lot of Chinese dishes that use steaming. Look at dim sum. Try googling steamer recipes; there are tons of Chinese dishes. Think I may try some. |

Anything is possible if you put your mind to it, or if you don't know what you're doing.
And if you don't know what your doing the impossible is ALWAYS possible. |

in winter the rice cooker is perect for making casseroles.......mmmmm
i also cook tonnes of veggies, great for potatoes and brocolli
have a go......really easy......my rice cooker is on a timer for cooking rice, but if i'm cooking veggies or casseroles which need a little longer i just take a chopstick and wedge it under the power switch so that it cooks for longer |

Me too. I think with that type of steamer, especially, it would be very easy to overcook them. |
