I'm trying to get a summer job, and I'll be getting a c4 visa if I get it. Do I need to have my university send in new transcripts or does immigration keep this stuff on file once you've had a working visa (I'm on the E2 now)? |

I am NOT sure what immigration will want for documentation for a camp and a C4. You (or your new boss) will have to contact immigration directly (assuming your new boss is legally allowed to hire foreigners for the camp). NOT all (in point of fact almost none) of the camps (located outside of a hakwon or school grounds) can legally have a foreigner working at them.
IF you plan on a new job in Korea after that you WILL need to submit all new documentation again (including diploma and transcripts).
Sorry I couldn't be of more help. |

YES.
For YOU:
Take your new contract,
ARC,
passport,
copy of the school's registration,
guarantor form
application form (from the immigration office)
30k won.
Takes about 20-30 minutes.
For your wife:
Take HER passport,
HER ARC
your ARC
your passport
application form
30k won.
done at the same time as yours.
IF you are leaving on vacation:
GET A NEW re-entry permit at the SAME time that you extend your ARC.
IT will cost an additional 50k won EACH (assuming you are NOT from the UK).
Simply tick the additional box on the top of the application form. |

Wow...I'm asking my school to pay. Anyhow, my wife and I both currently have "m" visas...can our new visa's be "m" as well? I don't want to shell out 50,000won every time I leave the country. |

Unless you are from the UK your EXTENSION will NOT include a re-entry permit. The UK extension does not include a re-entry permit either but they get it free, they just need to apply for it.
The 50k won each is for a MULTIPLE re-entry sticker (good for 1 year or until you renew/change your visa again).
Single re-entry stickers are 30k each time you travel for each of you. |

It's free for Americans as well, I believe...I always get "m" visas and never have to pay any extra fee. Just got to specify it on your visa application at the consulate and verbally check it when you submit it as well never hurts. |

But, I am telling you that those were NEW visas and NOT extensions.
With an extension you NEED to get a re-entry permit.
OK... don't believe me.... It won't be me with a canceled visa.

ASK at the immigration desk when you get your extension but be prepared to tick the box pay for it. You are forwarned.

Right Tom thanks, I admit I didn't know that. What about another option, I'll be in Thai until a few days before my visa expires, is there an option here? I'll pay the money if there's no other option, it's not a lot but, I'd still rather not... |

You can let your visa expire and go through the whole visa application process (new transcripts, diploma, visa confirmation number, new ARC and F3 application for your wife) instead of a simple extension.
Kind of seems like a lot of pissing and extra work for virtually nothing. |

FYI, i just applied for an extension for my visa. (I finish my contract in two weeks and am extending my contract by six months.) They took my passport and ARC for two weeks like they do wehn you apply for a new visa. This was in Busan, which everyone knows is the most annoying immi office in the country. So, just make sure you give yourself plenty of time to get your visa done before you leave for thailand. |
