Many of you have seen samulnori performances, but maybe can't associate the word with an image in your head. Picture a group of Koreans wearing colorful period clothing blowing small horns and beating drums and gongs. Got it?

So, what do you think about it?

I ain't going out to buy the latest CD, but I greatly respect it.

Hell, I'd respect the general populace much more if they could be as wretchengly nationalistic about this as they are with the usual crap they think Korea is "good" at.

those traditional performances can definitely blow me away. My favorite type has to be the one where a person has a hat with a long wire and a streamer on it. Then the person dances and moves the streamer in time to the rythm beaten out by the percussionist. Fascinating.
