Hello
I searched and couldn't really find any good directions for a good vietnamese restaurant in seoul. Preferably above the river, but if not that's ok...
thanks! |

| If you come up to Jeonju (Chonju), there's a good Vietnamese restaurant in Geksa called Hoa Bihn. Good food and the manager speaks English. |

| There is one in Hyewa, and a couple in Nowon-gu that I know of. The one in Hyewa is on one of the back streets behind McDonalds. In Nowon, in Lotte department store there is one on the 9th floor, or across the street next to the Outback. |

Euggh,
Those Hoa Binh places and all the other pale, Han-ified imitations of Viet food are woeful, in my opinion. Having spent part of last summer in Vietnam and coming from Australia, which has some of the best cheapest Viet restaurants anywhere, I've resolved never to set foot in one of those places again. |

| So basically what you are all saying is: "If you want Vietnamese food, give up and go for Thai instead"? |

i find the chain Pho Hoa to be passable. It's American based, not as good as what I knew in California, but still good. A bit pricy, but at least it's purely beef (and even chicken) flavor - no random and out of place fish cakes like the Korean versions. It's good for when I'm desperate.
I've seen them in Hongdae, Coex, and Mokdong. There seem to be quite a few. I think the sign is yellow. |

Most of the Thai food I have has here has been just as bad. |
