Hi there

I am blown away by the amount of negative stories posted by teachers all over the place. It seems as though people are looking to teach overseas to learn a huge lesson about themselves, ie, look at the shit you want to put up with, you're really tough and karma and all that, it's a bit of a setup.

I haven't even left safe little NZ YET partly because I too found out that a potential employer didn't even exist, that was in China. It kind of put me off when the hagwon wasn't interested in helping me get my family to Korea too. I have found the blacklists on other sites and many posts on this site a very useful tool to ask the questions and tell them what I want and what I don't want.

I read a thread just today and couldn't be bothered posting this there but somebody had asked if people would talk about their positive employers who pay on time, treat them well etc and the content of their contracts. BUT what I was very surprised about was that these people some of them, wouldn't name the schools, helllooo!!! Why the bloody hell wouldn't you pass on the good news and names of these employers but are more than happy to name the shit ones??

How come with all of the shitty experiences hasn't anybody had the brains to start up a serious staunch watchgroup of sorts which main focus is on steering teachers to the good employers only. There has to be some change and it may be small but it can work.

Blacklisting schools is not enough. It doesn't prevent the ongoing misery of people getting ripped off and treated badly. Teachers are going to be taught a shit lesson, they're not going to teach!!! It's the other way round folks.

Well I know that my experience is going to be a good one and god help anyone who tries to walk all over me.

Hey and don't forget to wipe between your toes after your shower, cause you know that flaky skin, it's rot mate!! jus caus u don't wipe between ur toes!!!

They will walk all over you if they want. If you kick up a fuss you will be fired. And then you will have no money and be in a strange country where you don't speak the language and no one cares about enforcing the labour laws.

Just what are you going to do?
