Here's my situation.
I'm gonna leave Busan around August 29th and head to Southeast Asia. I wanna see Thailand, Vietnam and Cambodia. I plan on travelling for one month.
My question is about plane tickets. Should I buy a roundtrip ticket to say, Bangkok or do you think I should try to fly into Bangkok and then get a return from another city, say Hanoi? I really have no idea.
Many thanks in advance!!! |

The cheapest return flights will be from Bangkok. But as the other poster said anything is possible. |

Flights from Bangkok to Vietnam are cheap. I recommend a round-trip ticket there and back. That gives you the freedom to stay in other countries longer if you want to have an adaptable schedule. But, if you get a good deal on a multi-stop ticket, it could save you money. |

One suggestion. Buy a round trip ticket to Bangkok; sightsee to the South of Bangkok- Andaman Coast on the way down, Gulf side on the way back (Phuket - Ko Samui). Once back in Bangkok take a cheap Air Asia flight to Hanoi. From Hanoi make your way by train to Saigon- stop along the way for a few days at Nah Trang (I like train travel but another cheap flight would save time). From Saigon travel overland to Cambodia stop in Kampong Som / Sihanoukville then overland to Siem Reap via Phnom Penh then overland back to Bangkok.
Ambitious schedule for only one month -but you would not miss much. |

Sounds like sound advice. I think I'm gonna go with the roundtrip ticket to Bangkok. From what I've heard/read there are always lots of reasonably prices tickets to Bangkok.
Thanks for the input guys! |

One last suggestion, get your visas for Vietnam and Cambodia in Bangkok (the embassies are fairly close to one another). You need a Vietnam visa before hand. It is cheaper and easier than doing it in Korea. You can get a Cambodian visa at the boarder but there are usually scams to ask for extra fees. You probably know Thai visas are issued on the spot for free to most Westerns on arrival so no worries about that one.
Have a good trip whatever you decide to do. |
