I have a roommate, a Korean teacher at my school. We get along fine, but we generally keep our noses out of each other's business.

She goes to work every morning around noon or 12:30, which is much earlier than I do. I can always hear her leave because I am up by that time, and our front door always makes a horrendous slamming noise no matter how quiet you try to be.

So this morning, I heard her leave around 12:30, as usual. By 1:00 I was getting ready to leave the apartment. I was in the kitchen, gathering up my things when I noticed that I could hear the air conditioner unit running in her room. I figured she had forgotten to turn it off, and didn't want it running all day. Being the ever gracious roommate that I am, I did the precautionary knock before entering the room. No response, so I threw open the door with impunity and OH NO HOLY GOD NAKED KOREAN MAN SLEEPING IN HER BED. The best part was that he was so out of it that he barely registered my presence, although he stirred slightly. I shut the door quickly, and then had a good laugh.

I love it. Just yet another thing that I can pretend not to notice because she likes to keep up a good image for our Christian boss. Smoking? Nope, I never smell cigarettes. Drinking? Definitely never heard her stumbling home drunk. Sex? Nope, never seen a naked man in her bed.

I've gotta love her, she's like a repressed, Korean version of me.
