Does anybody here have any experience with English Zone in Yeosu, or just in Yeosu, or know somebody that might?

I've been to Yeosu a few times. It's a pleasant city, although it certainly has a more small-town feel than Seoul or places in Gyeonggi-do. It's scenic and there are a number of islands, beaches, and parks. There are a few department stores and Western bars. You'll need to be able to make your own fun, for the most part. I enjoy visiting, and it was one of my top choices for next semester.
Do a search here on Yeosu and you'll get a few recent posts that go into more detail. There's also a bit of information on Galbijim, although the page is down for a few days: http://wiki.galbijim.com/Yeosu Check it out later.
Sorry, no info on English Zone. I've seen a few of their job ads, and it looks like a standard hagwon. Take some time to read stuff on the job-discussion forum and familiarize yourself with what to expect in a contract. Also consider posting it here for review. Job satisfaction will play a large role in enjoying your year here. Though I enjoy life down here, it would be considerably more difficult if I were in an unpleasant job situation. |
