Howdy all,

I am just doing some research on various schools. Has anyone on board had any experiences with Yonsei ELP in Wonju?

First hand experiences are best please.

Thanking you ahead of time...

I used to work there. PM me with some specific questions you may have. Overall, not a bad place. Low hours(26/week), good vacation(4 weeks), and good pay (2.2) for a hagwon. Wonju wasn't my favorite city in the world, but some surprisingly great restaurants there.

Ahh, another year gone by, almost, and the search begins again. Are there any recent employees of Yonsei ELP on board who can give some opinions/comments about the school?

First hand experiences are best please. Smile

I also have some contacts who have worked there and who still work there.

From what I understand recently there has been quite a bit of bickering among the foreign staff however the Korean staff seem to get along really well... they get to work upstairs separate and away from the foreigners.

I've seen the classes at ELP... the kids classes are often out of control but then again, my hogwan director in Wonju was a drill sergeant which worked out pretty well for me. I couldn't teach such annoying and despicable kids but the adult students who attend classes there seem quite lovely.

PM me if you'd like details. ELP does have some of the best benefits around and Wonju is a great little city... in my opinion... maybe not the best... but certainly not the worst.

The amount of non-teaching duties is nuts! There is a lot of pressure on teachers and the teachers as a group have never gotten along very well. The first year, they were actually attacking each other, now it's just this group vs that group and a lot of phoney office politeness. Overall, a good place to steer clear of!
