That would be hilarious!
Three late comers blowing away the yapper also rans.
What do you think? Has the campaigning started too early and people will be so bored by next year that newcomers have an advantage - not disadvantage - in joining the fray later rather than earlier.
They can avoid any negativity generated by having taken a stand or changing stances on issues of Iraq, immigration, etcetera. |

Actually they wouldn't be late-comers if they entered now. The others in the field are way ahead of the game. |

Historically they wouldn't be late comers entering the race in the odd year summer, but relatively they would be terribly late. Just look at Clinton and Obama's Q1 fundraising...nothing comes close. |

Bloomberg doesn't need to raise any contributions because he's almost as rich as God ... something like $5 billion sits in his wallet, and that's how he paid for his mayoral campaign.
Gore would turn everything upside down in 5 minutes. People would line up from Iowa to Kansas to give him $, but he wouldn't even need much in the way of contributions - he has a book and a movie out, and people already know what he's all about.
Thompson. He'd have a money problem, most likely ... |

what those Law and Order residuals wouldnt cover it?
Bloomberg is the Dems worst nightmare, he'd throw the election to the republicans more than nader did in 2000
BTW: what one person caused Gore to lose the presidency in 2000????

I'd have find the poll again, but I think Bloomberg entering the race hurt most of the Republican candidates more than the Democrats. Either way, he would shake things up for sure. |

If Thompson actually were to enter the race NBC couldn't air any Law and Order episode he was in. It's all about the equal access.
I too think Bloomberg would take more votes away from the Republican side. In a nutshell he's socially moderate/liberal and fiscally conservative. That portion of the Republican base has been left out of the loop for Bush's whole presidency. They're growing increasingly disenfranchised and would easily vote for Bloomberg, especially if someone like Romney or Thompson gets the nod. I'd imagine Bloomberg wouldn't run or would drop out if Guilani wins the nomination.
Independents who typically vote Democratic would almost certainly stay Democratic, seeing as how they haven't held the White House since 2001. Although he no longer has a party, Bloomberg's former membership in the GOP will almost certainly hurt him. |

Oh, you mean aside from a horrifically ethically challenged Secretary of State and a partisan Supreme Court decision? javascript:emoticon(' ')
