Just gave the album a first listen...can't say I'm too impressed. Mediocre at best, for the Stripes. It was probably asking too much for them to produce three great albums in a row.

I don't care for the new one much either.
However, I did enjoy the album Jack White cut last year, 'the Raconteurs.' Not a mindblowingly original or amazing bunch of songs, but not too bad at all. I guess they're doing another album at the moment...I think maybe Jack's spreading himself too thin.

To help get over my disappointment with the new album, I downloaded a torrent called 'white stripes complete B-sides' and found it very good in places. It's almost like a new album, as a lot of it I never heard before. Good cover of Dolly Parton's 'Jolene' on it...I used to own that track, but haven't heard it in a while. Good stuff!

They (he) has talent for sure and deffinitely rocks the place, but to me it gets too repetitive. His other band Racontours (or however its spelled) are the shit, though.
