Just gave the album a first listen...can't say I'm too impressed. Mediocre at best, for the Stripes. It was probably asking too much for them to produce three great albums in a row. |

I don't care for the new one much either.
However, I did enjoy the album Jack White cut last year, 'the Raconteurs.' Not a mindblowingly original or amazing bunch of songs, but not too bad at all. I guess they're doing another album at the moment...I think maybe Jack's spreading himself too thin.
To help get over my disappointment with the new album, I downloaded a torrent called 'white stripes complete B-sides' and found it very good in places. It's almost like a new album, as a lot of it I never heard before. Good cover of Dolly Parton's 'Jolene' on it...I used to own that track, but haven't heard it in a while. Good stuff! |

They (he) has talent for sure and deffinitely rocks the place, but to me it gets too repetitive. His other band Racontours (or however its spelled) are the shit, though. |
