If you go to a Korean Noraebang (Karaoke place) and have a look at the English song selections, you'll think you've come to no man's land. You'll find some 60's, 70's 80's classics with a sprinkling of a few of today's hits.

You'll also find some "classics" that have come back to haunt you like,

In The Navy - Village People
Da Doo Run Run - Shawn Cassidy
You Can't Touch This - MC Hammar

Okay. Foreigners are not part of the Korean target market for karaoke, so they can be easily forgiven. Hell, I am thanikful that they even have any English songs.

Despite this, I find myself wishing for some songs that deserve to be in the karaoke machines here.

So, my question for you is: If you could personally give the Korean Karaoke places a "song makeover", what songs would you add to the machines? What would you take out?

My choices to remove = (see above)

My choices to add =
Love Shack by B52s
Just Can't Get Enough - Depeche Mode
Hot Blooded - Foreigner
& too many country songs to mention. We need more country songs. They're so easy and fun to sing.

I would add tainted love by softcell (its a classic Razz )....and change the book so its in order of artist not song

EDIT - and i would add 'Babies' by Pulp cause its the most kareokeable song ever

i would take out all the Rage Against the Machine, Eminem, 50 cent because its embarressing watching whitey try to do those songs

Lots of late seventies early eighties punk rock.

I've actually been to a place that had Anarchy in the U.K.

Good one. I agree.
I wanted to sing that one. They had it, but the Marilyn Manson version Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad
Awful!

We need to get some Johnny Cash in the machine like Folsom Prison Blues.

Or how about NIN's Hurt
