Happy 4th of July my fellow American ex-pats! My fiancee and I are going to have a hot dog and a Budweiser to celebrate. It would be nice to be in a backyard with a bbq, friends, family, a swimming pool, and an ice chest full of beer.

Yep, I sure am missing the family BBQ too. Sad With things not going well at work for me, it makes me even that much more homesick. Yea, on the 4th of July early this morning, my school holds a special meeting to announce that we have a big problem that equates the school to being a sinking ship. It's kinda like, "Houston, we have a problem." "May Day, May Day, we going down!" Darn, I want to go home and probably will soon...

Nice try, but kiwis, ozzies and brits are never gonna understand. America is a very big place and people get spread out all over it. The Fourth is one of the 3 or 4 times a year we make a modicum of effort to get back together in one place with family and old friends. It's not about patriotism, it's about seeing each other's faces, drinking a beer and eating a dawg.

(Er, Superfly, I was talking about wieners and sausages. You know that. Don't get upset. That's a good boy.)

Damn you, 'fly for posting those pictures. I don't get homesick often, but ... aw, hell.
