I posted about my dog a month+ ago and the few people who expressed interest all changed their mind.
There is another added hurdle as it looks like we won't be able to get her onto our flight out of Korea.

So now our need to find her a home increased dramatically. We will be putting up posters in Korean around our neighbourhood but we've got to do everything.
Here is my ad from lonely lifetime:

We adopted got our golden retriever mix Betty from (I think it was) KAPS in Daegu last October. It was a very rash decision but we fell in love with this dog too quickly. Now we are returning home and, due to some really crappy circumstances (the NEWEST one being that my travel agent did not book a spot for Betty on our flight as I asked her on the off chance we couldn't find someone to take her).

About Betty:
Health
- Female
- About 1 year old (11-12kgs, 16inches at teh shoulders. That's as big as she'll get)
- Up to date on all shots and medication
- Spayed 2 months ago
- Perfect health

Behaviour
- Fully House trained
- Is crated trained and is content to be in there during work hours.
- Not good on a leash but a VERY smart dog. Because we walk her with our other dog we haven't had the opportunity to train her. We've also not been very adept at leash training. I'm POSITIVE that if you can do it, she can; she's quite bright and eager to please.
- Generally quite obidient
- VERY good with other dogs (submissive and playful)
- Good watch dog (if she hears a noise at the door) but relatively little barking otherwise (she does make a lot of "scooby doo" little sounds though. Those are cute)

Personality
- VERY smart dog. Has required very little training for basic commands (Off/down, in your crate, sit, come, place)
- LOVES being petted, MELTS when you pet her tummy/chest
- loves people
- playful and pretty energetic.

Ideally, Betty gets off leash run on a school ground every other day but at least 2 walks and one (1-2 hour) hike on the mountain/in the park on the weekend has kept her relatively content. The more time she gets to run, the happier and more relaxed she appears at home.

She comes with a TRAVEL kennel AND a day kennel (wire mesh and bigger) as well as her "own blanket".

We HAD planned, as a worst case scenario to take her home and bring her to the SPCA but since she can't get onto our plane, we may have to change that.

Some pics:

As mentioned, we really hope to find a home for her before we leave.
Please send a pm my way so we can chitty chatty.

I'm interested in the one on the left, looks like it has more meat.
Anyways, this takes the cake...trying to unload your mutt here cause YOU don't want to take her on the plane....what's the reason that it can't go? I can only think of one...You don't want to pay. Just turn it loose, that's probably what will end up happening anyway. A Korean would only take it to eat. Irresponsible lout! And, while you're at it, learn to post pictures correctly! I think a 5 year old could probably have managed better.

I sent an email to my travel agent with her pertinent information. For whatever reason the T.A. didn't reserve her spot (and "apparently" didn't get my email). I'm flying JAL and I've heard they have a limited number of dogs on each flight. She is very uncertain as to whether betty will still be able to be reserved on our flight.

Getting that dog from this house to our new dwelling will likely cost over 1000$. If nobody adopts her, then that's what we are going to have to pay. That kinda sucks but that's the way it is. Regardless, money is not our main issue here.

Please stop being a jackass.

Spliff, I wish you would just stop being so anal retentive. All you ever do on this board is make stupid comments and critisize others. Get a damn life for Petes sake!!

Why do you troll the buy/sell forum? Is it because you cant handle the other general areas that you need to come and troll here?

Does it make you feel good about yourself when you condem someone for a post? Does it make you feel like more of a man?

You need some professional help! Find it quickly.

a bit strongly worded, but I generally agree.

and another thing: why do people get roasted so thoroughly EVERY SINGLE TIME they try and unload animals here? sure it's justified in some cases, but in this case, given that the animal has enjoyed a few months away from KAPS, that air travel is really traumatic for pets, that most foreigners spend less time in Korea than the lifetime of the average pet, that people's plans change, and that OP is making a sincere attempt to find the animal a good home, I don't think it's justified!!!

I see...if my opinion isn't mainstream or attuned to yours I'm labeled a troll. If this perspective wasn't so ridiculous and closed minded it might actually be funny. "Professional help" for what, fraid I lost you there, mate. Laughing

Maybe because some people feel that animals deserve to be treated w/ some degree of dignity and respect. To try to unload a pet on an net forum like you would a used washer is a crime, IMHO! But, opinions don't seem to be well respected here.

spliff, its not whether the poster is wrong or right, its about your need to always make dumb comments to people who are at least trying to do something right.

"Mainstream" has got nothing to do with it and also my perspective has nothing to do with it.

Its about being a normal human being and just letting the poster try and find a home for his dog. I will bet you dont post on other sites that try to get homes for dogs, so why post here? Is it entertaining for you to make the poster feel bad?

And opinions are fine, but the way you go about doing it is just stupid. Your posts always drip with sarcasm and it's totally un-necessary.

This being a perfect example:

EDIT:
This thread is about me trying to find a place for my dogs.

I'll ask that all of this stuff will stop here and be brought to pm. If you have a problem with me spliff, pm me.

Otherwise, I still hope to hear from people who may be interested.

Why can't she get on the plane?

She seems like a good dog. Wish I had the space.

The problem was that my travel agent said that only a certain number of kennels are allowed on each plane. She told me that my flight had already had that number of kennels.

Regardless, by sheer and amazing coincidence, we have a new home for Betty. A friend from Seoul came down to visit with a "posse" and one of his friends loved her right off the bat (and rememberred her from this ad).

So she's got a place and everyone is happy!

For those who expressed interest, thank you and I'm sorry it didn't work out.
