I'm going home to Seattle for a visit in a few weeks. It's been two years since I was home last, and I want to stock up on things that I can't get or are hard to get here. I was trying to make a list, but I'm drawing a blank. Please help with some suggestions!

COTTON SOCKS and if your feet get cold, decent wool ones as well

i have a couple dozen pairs now of cotton ones and a dozen wool ones, it is possible to find wool ones in the winter but they are very expensive, and it seems all socks here have those awful elastic tops on them - very uncomfortable

i also carried on the plane back (no room in my bag) my favorite black hooded zip up style sweatshirt - no pix or words on it - jees i hate the costumes they have here it's so hard to find a decent t shirt w/o writing on it and forget the sweatsuits we have back in the u.s. - they don't exist here everything is synthetic

Why worry about this now? you're going to wander through stores going. " Omigod! how did I live without this?" for at least an hour or two when you go home. go with your gut then

Those white fruit of the loom under wear are on the list. Some new polo shirts and docker pants and some new shoes would be on my list. Eh? Nothing seems to beat American retail clothing shopping nor food shopping either.

Small things like chili powder, taco seasoning, spices, and anything else hard to get in Korea that you like is a nice thing to pack along. You might grab some Taco Bell tacos from your local restaurant and share it with us all once you step off the plane! LOL Heck, since it's cold from sitting in your carry on bag for 18 hours, we can microwave it up in a jiffy and act like we are home for 5 minutes, just a rare 5 minutes of this pleasant delight would be like I died and went to heaven. LOL

Thanks. Lots of good ideas. Peppermint's probably right. I'll just start grabbing things when I shop through downtown. But I wanted a little direction so I don't just go nuts and fill up my suitcase too quickly. I really miss Taco Bell too. I have a friend who works on Camp Walker in Daegu who can hook it up on occasion though. I can't wait for Jack in the Box too.

You can get instant oatmeal at Costco. If you want the steel cut stuff you might want to buy some of that...

I miss honey packets. I like to drink tea on the run - and I drink my tea with honey. I can't think of anywhere where you could buy honey packets, but I'm sure you could raid a fast food restaurant. Does Seattle have Chick Fil'A?
