My boyfriend and I are considering taking a job at Changwon's Kid Club. I know Kid's Club is a franchise and some locations are bad, but I trust my recruiter and this one seems like a good location from our research thus far. Though if anyone knows anything about it/works there, feel free to PM me.
I'm more curious about the city, though, so I'm posting here.
I'm not really a partier (more of a nature person), but it's still nice to have a bit of a foreign scene, are there any foreign bars/stores in the city? I also like live music, but I'm assuming there's not much of a scene in a place like Changwon?
Is there public transportation and buses/trains to bigger places like Busan?
Are there places to swim? The city website mentions they have a swimming pool, but it doesn't say much else. Anyone have any experience with it or know any other places to swim and how much it costs? |

I can't tell you much about Kids Club, but you will definately like the city.. Its nicely planned and laid out there are trees and real grass lots of parks movies live music, although I dont know what kind of live music your looking for.. Public transportation is good Busan is about 40 mins away by bus. I dont know much about the pool I have never been but you can always go to the beach in Busan if you want to get your swimming in.
There is a brief overview of it I am sure other people can give you more. I like it not big but not small people are generally friendly.. |

I have lived here almost 6 years in changwon and know it back to front....any other questions give me a PM
There are 2 main foreigner bars, both with a bit of a different vibe. They are O'briens and IP(International Pub).
Not much of a live music scene with the exception that O'briens has a live band play every couple of months(very popular) and there are a couple of Philipino singing acts playing covers in internation hotal and the german beer house...
Public transportation is very good, however there is no english and you have to read Korean...i take the bus 3 times a day at the moment.
There is a bus to busan every 12 minutes from changwon terminal. cost is about 4 american dollars...takes 40 mins.
Swimming pools here are terrible. Lots and lots of chlorine. makes me sick..... |

Hey, I'm glad you said more than all there was to say. : )
I know I shouldn't trust recruiters, but I found this one after a lot of research and many referrals and is by faaar the most responsive and helpful recruiter I've contacted. I don't mind if they make money off of me if they're good.
Thanks for the info, I'm especially happy to hear about the buses. |
