This audio format seems to... uh... rock. At least for spoken material. I haven't tried it with music yet. But, even with maximum compression the voice on my audiobooks and language lessons are clear.
I think I may end up converting all of my audio files to Ogg Vorbis. |

Well, any conversion will only be as good as the source, so it can be a waste of time.
If the original is recorded in the format, yes, it will be an accurate reproduction. I have many vinyl albums in ogg format and I, though not being a complete audiophile, would say they are great reproductions.
However, taking a 160bit MP3 and converting it to ogg wouldn't do anything. |

Ogg Vorbis is a great open source format but I'd have an MP3 version ready or a converter. Unfortunately, while the format has made strides not all hardware supports it, while just about everything supports MP3.
Though if space isn't a concern FLAC is the way to go if you want to keep audio fidelity at its highest but still need some compression. |
