My fiance just went crazy and bought 2 new phones (for us to use when we leave Korea) from her trip.

The one she got me is cool... a motorola that just calls and texts.

Hers... Its an LG that has an mp3,mp4, camera, video, blue tooth, games, and somehow she is sitting near me right now READING A BOOK IN CHINESE on it!

But the battery dies out every hour or 3...

Whats the point of having a phone that does all that cr!pp? The battery is limited anyway and you can just carry all the things with you in addition to a regular phone in order to do what the most fancy phones do.... and then you wont run the battery out and you can still make calls.

I'd say there should phones which can do as little or as much as each user wants it to.

I wish my phone had a real MP3 player instead of the pathetic 128MB memory and having to use Samsung software in Korean to transfer anything to it. Yuck!

I have only ever used any of my many phones to call and text.

Because:

I have a nice camera for pictures, and a nice mp3 player for mp3s etc.

I don't have time to play games on my phone.

I don't like watching anything on a small screen, even the news and weather.

I like small phones.

I currently have A) a cell phone B) a great digital camera C) an mp3 player and D) a portable media player. Do I need all these things all the time? No, I do not. Do I expect a phone to be able to replicate all the functions of these devices as well as these devices can do them? No. Would I like a phone/device that would allow me to have the majority of the functionality of some of my gadgets and also allow me to do away with certain other of my gadgets completely? Yes, yes I would. Personally, a phone with a screen the size of the iPhone with a bit more storage space and the capability of playing various file formats would be ideal. I'd love to ditch my mp3 player/PMP and just carry around a phone.

If my job didn't require a cell phone I wouldn't have one.
