It seems the text messages coming from my cell phone are not regular text messages. Someone told me that it is "shotmail" coming from my phone and that its more expensive than a regular text message.
I don't know why my phone is sending it that way. Anyone know what the deal is? |

| On my phone, in Korean, option 1 is 문자보내기 for sending a regular text message. Option 2 is 사진보내기 for sending a pic. Avoid the one that says "Shot메일보내기" (option 3 on mine) if you're not worried about sending a pic PLUS message, which is what a shot mail is. |

I think that my friend's phone sends me shot mail messages when her message is too long. Do short messages come through as shotmail?
When I write a text I click on "outgoing". then "write", then I have an option of shotmail or regular mail.
How much is each text costing you? |

Good point. Looks like(at least with my phone/plan) a regular message can be up to 240 characters writeable in length while the content for a shotmail one can be 2560 Kor characters. Sorry pkang0202, I guess the way it was explained to me was insufficient, and I in turn messed up the explanation. The rare time I send a message, I send it via reg text message and it won't allow me to type more than 240 characters. The messages are not truncated and I'm not given the option to choose reg or shotmail. |

Well, I took my phone to SK telecom and they sorted it out. First of all, my text messages were being sent in color. They said the font was red, so because of that they were being sent shotmail.
They put eveyrthing back to normal so hopefully I won't be paying up the butt with my text messages. |
