Hi,

I'm trying to find a way to put this as succinctly as possible.

I will start teaching at a university with the contract commencing March 1st.

I am currently not in korea.

I will be heading over likely in early to mid february. The complication is that because my contract will not have started I cannot get a re-entry permit, since I will not have an arc card.

So this is my plan:

I would like to fly in for a few days on a tourist Visa, stay with a friend and then head to taipei for a vacation/visa run. Then come back into korea on my work visa.

What I need to know:

How long does it take to get a visa done in taipei and/or is it even possible to get it done in taipei.


Also, anyone with any advice or insight please feel free to post it here or PM me.

Yes it is possible to get it done in Taipei....last year I dropped in off in the morning and could pick it up in the afternoon the following day. I have heard that due to the increase in people around March first you may have to wait two days, so plan on at least two nights and you will be fine.
