**Double post, this topic is in the General Discussion forum but no one seems to reply**
I've had my cell phone for about a week. I use it infrequently... The most I've used it were to make two 45 minute long phone calls back to Canada, however I used a phone card for this so it was only connecting to a local number.
I don't know what rate plan I'm on but assuming since my employer set it up for me, I'll billed per minute. I don't know how the rate plans work here.
How much is the per minute charge (ballpark)?
I watched about a minute of BBC World News on it too--just to see what the live broadcasts were like. How much will I be charged for this?
What about text messaging?
My phone is through the "Show" company.
Let me know! Thanks. |

Probably no reply because the plans are so varied.
FOR EXAMPLE:
If you are on the minimum plan ~9k per month then you would pay for ALL your airtime (300 won per minute) and 250 won per text message.
If you were on an average plan (~20k per month) you would get about 60 minutes of talk time before extra billing kicks in and a rate of about 180 won per minute with ~80 free texts.
The last time I looked (SHOW) had about 18 different monthly plans currently available and they all had different airtime / SMS limits and rates.
After you have had your phone for a couple months, go into a SHOW office and get them to adjust the plan to the one that is most efficient for you based on your useage history. You will need a copy of the ID card from the person who set the phone up to make any changes.
