Not in Korea, but with so many threads discussing this issue, makes for an interesting comparison.

He was stabbed in the lower back. He received six to eight sutures for the minor stab wounds and was in stable condition at Jacobi Medical Center in the Bronx.
Police said the attack happened on the 100 block of Elm Street at 11:27 p.m. last night. The man and his 31-year-old Yonkers girlfriend were in a store arguing. They walked outside and she slapped him in the face. The man countered by slapping her back.
When three men who were in the area, but apparently not involved in the dispute, saw him slap her then pounced on him.
The three punched him in the face, threw him to the ground, kicked and then stabbed him multiple times.
They ran away after the assault.
An ambulance took the victim to the Bronx hospital.

What those 3 did was not justified at all and motivated by something else rather than 'protecting' the female.
That said, if i had an argument with a girl and she slaps me, i'll slap her back. I wont hit or slap her more than that initial slap, but if a woman thinks she can slap me, then she better be ready to take one as well.
Don't give me the "oh, but you cant hit women"- they want to be treated as equals, right ? |

| Er, she slapped him, he slapped her back (not a great thing to do), and then he gets beaten and stabbed by three men....okaaaayyyy..... |

Yeah - a real mark of cultural superiority... 
A controlled slap of a human (woman or man...) can be a positive thing.
Out-of-control beatings are usually negative.
And culturally condoned slaughter of millions of poor animals daily is a blight on humanity and should be a source of national shame... |

Absolutely. Women should not take advantage of the oh-he-won't-hit-me factor.
As for the story, it's absurd the guys reacted the way they did, especially with the stabbing. I'm not sure why this is in General forum. |

-I've heard that at terminal velocity(from both an MD and a martial artist 2 people) almost ALL women's hands would break(yeah fractures) if thrown against the average man's jaw. I've slapped a man off his feet, so .................................how many women can slap a man off his feet?

You probably shouldn't punch Mike Tyson then.
If a woman slapped me, i'd slap her back. The three people who stabbed the man should be put in prison. |

if an 8 year old kid punched me, i would not punch him back.
similarly, if i slapped my boyfriend who's a foot taller than me and outweighs me by like 75lbs (not that i have or would hit him, but let's pretend otherwise for a sec), i know he'd have the good sense not to slap me back...women are generally physically weaker than men--that's just a fact. this doesn't entitle women to abuse men to their hearts' content, of course--but it also doesn't give men the right to play tit for tat. restrain her if you have to, but hitting back? c'mon...remember wut yo mama told ya...two wrongs don't make a right. |

Well, I'd hit back. The whole "never hit a girl" thing is out-dated. Moreover, a woman (ought to) have the sense not to attack someone twice her size, where as a child doesn't. When a kindergarten kid grabs my leg or slaps my arm, his/her motive is different than an adult woman trying to inflict pain. (And, at 140 pounds I weigh less than many North American women, so accusations of bullying wouldn't really work).
And, of course, the three people who retaliated in the OP are way out of line and ought to be thrown in jail. |

still think any guy who would hit a girl is a schmuck. anyone who hits anyone is a schmuck.
and in any case, the muscle mass of a 140lb man is typically not the equivalent of a 140lb woman...or even one weighing much more than that. |
