I'm doing a 3-month SE Asian tour (Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam, Malaysia, Singapore, and Indonesia), and I'm wondering about vaccinations. I've been researching this, and I've heard that some get all the shots while others say to get only the ones required by law, which I think is the yellow fever vaccination.
1) To the best of your knowledge, which vaccinations are required by law? (for the aforementioned countries)
2) If you were doing this trip, which ones would YOU get?
Thanks |

Those countries are NOT yellow fever countries and you don't need yellow fever shots.
You should have (if you didn't already) HepA and HepB. These are both endemic and easy to catch.
You should have had as a youth your MMR, DPT shots and boosters so these should not be necessary. If you have NOT had them, they would also be a good idea.
IF you are planning on jungle trekking, then malaria prophylaxis is a good idea. If you are staying in the cities and on the beaches then just use bug spray/repellent.
You may also be interested in cholera and typhoid if you are heading off the beaten path. Both of these are water borne and problematic in the rainy season.
