Football season is here again. It's both an exciting time and a sad time for fans in Korea. Exciting because hey it's finally here. And sad because you miss the tailgate parties and the lazy Sunday's sitting around the TV with friends and family.

Last year I was mildly successful catching a few games on TVUPlayer. I was hoping to do better this year. I was googling and ran across this site.

http://streamednfl.blogspot.com/

This looks like it's going to be what I am going to use this year. I am a Brown's fan and it's tough catching a game in the States much less here. But they had SopCast channels for all of the first week preseason games.
I got up early on Sunday morning to catch the Brown's game. I had a problem getting the Sopcast player to work. Took me a couple of hours research and downloading different things to get it to work. (Finally had to download a cracked version of Xlite to remove some windows components, namely media player and windows media player, to get it to work. I then used xlite to reinstall windows media player and now it works fine.)

So I caught the fourth quarter of the game. The signal wasn't great. It's a little blurry on full screen and it cut out a few times. I have since watched a few other programs with sopcast that had a much better signal and was very pleased with it. I am sure that when regular season hits the signal will be better.

I figured a few of you guys would be trying to watch the games so I hope this info will help you out. If anyone can come up with a better way to watch, post it here, and we can all benefit from it.

Hey I tried the site you mentioned today for a preseason game and it wasn't aired, a bit disappointing. Last year I used TVU and also "www.streamtvnow.com" - which required $6 a month. The two programs combined worked well enough 80% of the time (and drove me nuts the other 20%)

I tried to sign up again, but it is a bit of a hassle to pay using their preferred websites.

so yeah, I'd like to know of any "backups" for when TVU and sopcast let me down. chargers were a high profile team last year, so i'm a bit surprised their game wasn't covered as advertised.

Every game I have tried to watch so far was on the site. I had to go to work at 7 this morning so I missed the charger game. Those times are eastern. So if it is say 7:30pm Saturday night it will be on at 8:30am Sunday morning here. The Browns game that I watched had two links. Only the second one was actually the game. I hope that all the links are accurate in the future because my wife doesn't want me to spend a lot of money on the NFL package from yahoo. No one really knows how the quality of that is going to be and they are asking a lot.

I think I am going to splurge and pay the $239.99 for the yahoo NFL Game Pass http://sports.yahoo.com/nflgamepass. I know it has mixed reviews but I am praying that it will be okay and the bugs from last year will have been worked out. This will be my first season away from home and the 50 inches of HD that was last year (slow tear forming in the corner of my eye).

I'm glad this post is here. I almost started a post.

One thing I considered was to get a slingbox, but I couldn't find anyone who was willing to devote the effort to set it up for me while I enjoyed games on my laptop.

I want to watch games badly. My team (the Saints) are good for the first time in a while, so I don't want to miss a potential Super Bowl season.

I am definitely going to look into setting up a slingbox. I can't go another year without any watching any football other than the odd game broadcast at 4am on SBS.

wow, slingbox sounds kind of cool - so it works by basically sending someone else's transmission to you? doesn't that mean you have to have someone who loves you back home?

I'm a Bronco fan and am finally happy to see the Brown defensive line recycling experiment nearing it's end. (Gerard Warren may be releaased or traded any time now...)

I can't wait to see Phillip Rivers kissing the turf and L.T stuffed in his tracks this year...and see Culpepper and those f'in Raiders go down in flames...

It would be great to get together to see an NFL game somewhere in Seoul in the future...any leads?

The problem watching games is the time that they come on. I live outside of Seoul and I got a 13month old son and on the way. So I imagine that I will be watching most of the games on my computer with the sound turned down.
